28th August 2017 – Family Archaeology Day

Join us on Bank Holiday Monday 28th August for a feast of family activities, displays and challenges.

Guided by experts in their field, you can enjoy guided tours, handle objects, bring finds for identification, explore our timeline, have ago at moving stones using prehistoric techniques, and learn about prehistoric and later crafts and food.  Have a go at dowsing, join our largest ever attempt to count the Stones and learn how to excavate in our special sandpit.  

18th September 2017 - The Cotswolds Living Landscape Festival

Open day celebrating National Archaeology Days and the 50th anniversary of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

The Rollright Trust presented a display about the Stones over the last 50 years for the Cotswolds Living Landscape Festival which was part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the designation of the Cotswolds as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  Covering nine themes, the display showed how the Stones and their surroundings have changed; what has been discovered about the Stones over the last few decades; some of the challenges of managing the site;  its use for ceremonies, drama, film and other events;  and its depiction in art and role in displaying of sculptures.
